Created the trellis and PVC tomato cages. The trellis is not as strong as I would like; I'll see how it lasts. The 1/2" PVC tomato cages cost about $9 a piece, most of it in the connectors. It takes about 30' of PVC to make 1 cage (4 3'4" pieces, 4 2" pieces, 8 1' pieces, and 16 "T" connectors, with 8 1.5" PVC). I also put up 3 stakes for the Florida weave, and 5 stakes for regular staking.

To create the cages, the lower 4 posts are 3'4" ( so 3 can be but from a 10' piece), the next level is made of 4 2' pieces. The fundamental problem is the cross members, which are created with 4 1' pieces and 8 T connectors at each end (each pair of T connectors connected to each other by a 1.5" piece of PVC) costs 60 cents each, so I'm paying nearly 5 dollars for just the connectors. It takes about 30' of PVC to make 1 cage, which also costs about 4.50.
